City Park Roses Paintings

 

I am excited to announce an exhibition of my newest paintings, entitled “Local Color: Christine Fontenot’s City Park Roses.”

The roses in these paintings are all from the lovely rose garden in Denver’s City Park, located just behind the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

I spent hours photographing the roses at sunset.  The warm light and cool shadows it produces are so exciting!  This series celebrates the transient hues brought out in the petals at sunset, and the individuality of roses growing in nature.
