I love dancing, and pink is my favorite color, so I was not surprised at the way this painting just flowed out of my fingers. In rendering the skirts of the dancers’ dresses, I wanted to convey a light feeling, almost like floating, in contrast to the strongly angular posing of their arms and hands.
